{"id":416,"date":"2011-01-28T07:11:25","date_gmt":"2011-01-28T07:11:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/172.30.28.12\/enkapower\/?p=416"},"modified":"2021-04-21T17:34:03","modified_gmt":"2021-04-21T14:34:03","slug":"enkas-adapazari-and-gebze-power-plants-was-selected-as-the-power-plant-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.enkapower.com\/en\/enkas-adapazari-and-gebze-power-plants-was-selected-as-the-power-plant-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"ENKA\u2019s Adapazar\u0131 and Gebze Power Plants was selected as the Power Plant of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"clearfix\" style=\"height: 20px\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Turkish private power producer ENKA set a new world record for power plant availability over the 12-month period ending November 2010<\/strong> based on recently upgraded GE F-technology gas turbines, the US power engineering giant said April 5.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">GE said that ENKA&#8217;s Adapazar\u0131 and Gebze power plants, with a total installed capacity of 2,320 MW powered by GE Frame 9FA+e gas turbines, <strong>achieved 99.8% availability, last year, which is nearly 7% higher than the industry average for all F technology gas turbines over the last three years of 92% and a global record for F-class gas turbine technology.<\/strong> It added that the increased availability allowed the plants to generate an additional 1.3 TWh of electricity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">GE Energy implemented an efficiency improvement upgrade referred to as the Cooling Optimization Package in 2008 and 2009 on the gas turbines at both power plants, as a result of which output increased by 2% and average combined-cycle efficiency reached 55.7%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The GE gas turbines at all three of ENKA&#8217;s plants \u2013 Adapazar\u0131, Gebze and \u0130zmir &#8211; operate under a 16-year contractual service agreement with GE. The three plants supply 15% of Turkey\u2019s electricity, GE said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><blockquote  data-animation=\"\"><p>\u201c<strong>Power Plant of the Year with an availability of 99,8 %<\/strong>\u201d<\/p><span class=\"author\">by the Power Magazine<\/span><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2010, the 2,310 MV Adapazar\u0131 and Gebze Power Plants achieved 99.8% availability, which is nearly 7% higher than the industry average and a global record in F-class gas turbine technology.
